AANN Call for Authors and Reviewers Due Thursday, April 30th
AANN Practice Parameters update and revision: Nursing Management of Adults with Severe Traumatic Brain Injury.
AANN is updating the Practice Parameter (previously clinical practice guidelines or CPG) Nursing Management of Adults with Severe Traumatic Brain Injury (Severe TBI). We have an exciting opportunity for subject matter experts to participate as authors and reviewers.
We are looking for content authors (2-3), reviewers (2-3), and one author without publication experience or advanced degree to mentor through the process. All work will be supported and guided by the AANN Practice Parameter Editorial Board Liaison and the Practice Parameter Editor.
To fill the author and reviewer roles we need neuroscience nurses who:
- Are subject matter experts in patient population with Severe TBI
- Have experience in systematic literature review and are committed to the development of best practices
- Active in practice and caring for Severe TBI patients.
- Can commit to the time required to successfully complete the update
- Authors:
- Approximately 12 to 18 months which will include:
- Weekly and/or monthly phone calls depending upon point in the CPG development
- Independent work
- Reviewers: one-three months

All documents must be combined into one document and uploaded into the volunteer portal on the AANN website by Thursday, April 30, 2026.
