AANN Brain Attack Coalition Alternate Liaison

AANN is looking for a volunteer to serve as an alternate liaison to the Brain Attack Coalition (BAC). The Brain Attack Coalition is a group of professional, voluntary, and governmental organizations dedicated to setting direction, advancing knowledge, and communicating the best practices to prevent and treat stroke.

Responsibilities:

  • Attend BAC quarterly meetings as needed
  • Work with AANN staff to develop quarterly reports as needed
  • Participate in BAC projects as needed
  • Share updates/requests from BAC with AANN leaders as needed

 

Qualifications:

  • Live in the Washington DC, Virginia, Maryland area
  • Ability to attend meetings held in Rockville Maryland as needed (held quarterly). No financial assistance is provided by AANN or NIH.
  • Stroke subject matter experts
  • The ability to engage in discussion around the most updated standards of care for stroke patients
  • SCRN certified, preferred
  • At least 3 years of experience in neuroscience nursing
  • The ability to write and communicate clearly
  • A passion to advance the science and practice of neuroscience nursing

 

The alternate liaison would only be expected to attend the meetings if/when the primary representative is not able to attend. This volunteer commitment will be a 2-year term with the potential for an additional appointment of 2 years.

The condensed CV should only include (1) your current position and title, with your contact information, (2) the professional organizations in which you hold membership, (3) the number of years you have worked in neuroscience nursing, (4) professional and volunteer experience (5) a list of publication credits (if applicable) and (6) the titles and dates of no more than 5 lectures or presentations you have given (if you have given more than 5 presentations, select the top 5 in the field of neuroscience).
