AANN is seeking volunteers for the Leadership Development Committee. AANN is seeking volunteers for the Leadership Development Committee. The Leadership Development Committee (LDC) will foster leadership development for members through mentorship, education, and other programs and resources. The LDC will advance the governance structure to ensure that the board is comprised of a diverse group of members who possess the competencies needed for a high performing board. The committee will also work to develop a pathway for leadership in AANN and engage members in leading the organization.  

Qualifications

  • AANN member in good standing for three years.
  • Active involvement within the past year in local and/or national activities of AANN or other professional organization.
  • Has served on an AANN committee, taskforce or Board of Directors. In addition, may also have served on a board, committee, taskforce, etc. of another professional organization. 
  • Communicates effectively orally, written, and electronically.
  • Demonstrates networking skills.
  • Must be willing to reach out to potential candidates and connect with them on a personal level.
  • Previous experience in leadership/management activities (i.e. interviewing/evaluation preferred).

Time commitment

2-year term appointed by the AANN President-elect. 6/8 conference calls throughout the year, email communication, and small group work.

  • A current condensed curriculum vitae that includes only (1) your credentials, current employer and title, and your contact information, (2) the professional organizations in which you hold membership, (3) the number of years you have worked in neuroscience nursing, (4) a bibliography of articles, book chapters, and books you have published in the past 10 years, and (5) the titles and dates of no more than 5 lectures or presentations you have given (if you have given more than 5 presentations, select the top 5 in the field of neuroscience).
