AANN is seeking a co-editor for the AANN Core Curriculum for Neuroscience Nursing, 7th Edition
Responsibilities
- Perform a comprehensive review of the sixth edition of the Core and outline specific directives for each chapter to guide the revision
- Evaluate the list of previous Authors and other Contributors and select from new and previous Authors and other Contributors to contribute to the seventh edition of the Work
- Manage development of the content of the seventh edition of the Work
- Correspond with all Authors and other Contributors to ensure that all parties are aware of and adhere to publication schedules, including but not limited to first drafts, peer review, and final draft
- Review all parts of the Work’s manuscript prior to submission to ensure that the content is in line with the Publisher’s vision and intent for the text, current scientific evidence, and best practices
- Using the Publisher’s resources appropriately and within predetermined standards and guidelines; provide support to all volunteer Authors and other Contributors, as required or requested, for the duration of the development of the Core
- Ensure the accurate and timely delivery of a final, publishable manuscript to the Publisher within predetermined and mutually agreeable time frames
Qualifications
Preferred editor candidates will be AANN members with previous writing experience and will possess these qualifications:
- Minimum education: Master’s degree in nursing
- At least 3 years of experience in neuroscience nursing
- The ability to write and communicate clearly
- The ability to meet deadlines
- Have experience in systematic literature review and are committed to the development of best practices
- Can commit to the time required to successfully complete the project (The time commitment for this project is approximately two years for co-editors)
- A passion to advance the science and practice of neuroscience nursing
Term of the Commitment
The group will begin its work in 2019. The estimated length of the commitment is 24 months using this projected timeline:

- A current condensed curriculum vitae that includes only (1) your current position and title, with your contact information, (2) the professional organizations in which you hold membership, (3) the number of years you have worked in neuroscience nursing, (4) a bibliography of articles, book chapters, and books you have published in the past 10 years, and (5) the titles and dates of no more than 5 lectures or presentations you have given (if you have given more than 5 presentations, select the top 5 in the field of neuroscience).
