AANN is seeking volunteers for the Annual Meeting Planning Committee. The Annual Meeting Planning Committee leads the development and planning of the AANN Annual Educational Meeting based on the mission of AANN.  

The primary activity of the committee is selection of educational content based on the meeting theme, current goals, and strategic plan of AANN; solicitation, blind review, and evaluation of abstracts; and review of information gleaned from participant evaluation of each annual meeting. Additional activities include, but are not limited to, development of meeting theme, ongoing evaluation of content and planning processes, and general oversight of activities related to the annual meeting. 

Qualifications

  • AANN member
  • At least 2 years of experience in neuroscience nursing 
  • The ability to meet deadlines 
  • Can commit to the time required 

Responsibilities

  • Participates in Annual Meeting Planning Committee meetings.
  • Recommends changes and improvements to the Annual Meeting to the board of directors.    
  • Participates in reviewing and evaluating abstracts.
  • Participates in the evaluation of the Annual Meeting.

Time commitment

2-year term appointed by the AANN President-elect. There is a one 1-hour face-to-face meeting at the annual meeting and approximately five conference calls throughout the year. Committee members also review online abstract submissions for the conference: approximately 25 hours during a designated time frame, which is usually in July.

  • A current condensed curriculum vitae that includes only (1) your credentials, current employer and title, and your contact information, (2) the professional organizations in which you hold membership, (3) the number of years you have worked in neuroscience nursing, (4) a bibliography of articles, book chapters, and books you have published in the past 10 years, and (5) the titles and dates of no more than 5 lectures or presentations you have given (if you have given more than 5 presentations, select the top 5 in the field of neuroscience).
