Description:

AANN/ABNN is excited to announce the development of a new Spine Certificate Program. Similar to the structure of the Seizure and Epilepsy Certificate Program, this certificate program will provide evidence-based education specific to spine, followed by a post-assessment. Learners who complete this program and pass the post-assessment will earn CE and an ABNN certificate of added qualification. This certificate program will be housed on the online Learning Management System (LMS). 

Responsibilities: 

  1. Confer with AANN/ABNN Project Coordinator to confirm contributors and reviewers of the work. 
  2. Develop a course outline including deadlines for  goal completion to help structure the course that contributors and reviewers can follow as they create module content. 
  3. Potentially identify and partner with accrediting or other professional organizations. 
  4. Participate in conference calls with project coordinator and section authors to address questions regarding best practices, clinical content, and course development. 
  5. Respond to contributor and reviewer questions throughout the content development process. 
  6. Ensure that the material is up to date and meets the highest quality professional standards. 
  7. Review final author content (PPT slides, knowledge checks, voice recording, videos, and final post-assessment) to confirm and ensure accuracy and cohesiveness. 
  8. Work closely with the AANN/ABNN Project Coordinator to ensure timely delivery of a final, accurate, and complete certificate program. 
  9. Review final contributor/reviewer changes and make revisions, as required to meet the best available evidence in the field. 
  10. Review and select final post-assessment items written by ABNN item writers. 
  11. Review and approve the final layout of the program. 

 

Qualifications:

Preferred editor candidates will be AANN members with previous writing experience and will possess these qualifications: 

  • A Master’s degree (preferred) 
  • Spine subject matter expert 
  • At least 3 years of experience in neuroscience nursing 
  • The ability to write and communicate clearly 
  • The ability to meet deadlines 
  • Have experience in systematic literature review and are committed to the development of best practices 
  • Can commit to the time required to successfully complete the project (the time commitment for this project is approximately one – two years for editors and contributors and one-three months for reviewers) 
  • A passion to advance the science and practice of neuroscience nursing 
  • Prior experience as a peer reviewer (preferred) 

 

Term of the Commitment 

The group will begin its work in early 2023. The estimated length of the commitment is 12–24 months using this projected timeline:

  • A short statement of interest (1-2 paragraphs) that addresses the reasons you would like to be considered and specifies your areas of interest and expertise. This statement of interest will also serve as a professional writing sample.  
  • A current condensed curriculum vitae that includes only 

(1) your current position and title, with your contact information. 

(2) the professional organizations in which you hold membership. 

(3) the number of years you have worked in neuroscience nursing, including specific years of spine experience . 

(4) list any management of online learning project development you’ve had in the past 10 years. 

(5) the titles and dates of no more than 5 lectures or presentations you have given (if you have given more than 5 presentations, select the top 5 in the field of neuroscience).
