AANN Call for Authors and Reviewers Due Friday, April 30th

AANN Clinical Practice Guideline Series on Cervical and Thoracolumbar Spine Surgery: A Guide to Preoperative and Postoperative Patient Care.

AANN is creating a new clinical practice guideline (CPG) Cervical and Thoracolumbar Spine Surgery: A Guide to Preoperative and Postoperative Patient Care.  We have an exciting opportunity for subject matter experts to participate as authors and reviewers.

We are looking for co-chairs to serve as project lead (2), content authors (2-3), reviewers (3), and one author without publication experience or advanced degree to mentor through the process. All work will be supported and guided by the AANN CPG Editorial Board Liaison and the CPG Editor.

To fill the roles, we need neuroscience nurses who:

  • Are subject matter experts in pre and postoperative care for cervical and thoracolumbar spine surgery
  • Have experience in systematic literature review and are committed to the development of best practices
  • Active in practice and care of cervical and thoracolumbar spine surgery patients
  • Can commit to the time required to successfully complete the update
    • Authors (approximately one year to 18 months which will include):
      • Weekly and/or monthly phone calls depending upon point in the CPG development
      • Independent work
    • Reviewers: one-three months

  • Personal statement outlining previous clinical and writing experiences pertaining to the development of this particular CPG, and reason(s) for your interest in participation. You must include the position interested in:
    • Co-Chair
    • Author
    • Reviewer
    • Mentee
