The American Association of Neuroscience Nurses (AANN) is committed to the advancement of neuroscience nursing as a specialty through the development and support of nurses to promote excellence in patient care. The AANN Clinical Practice Guidelines (CPGs) and evidence-based clinical reviews (EBCR) are a key element to help AANN achieve its mission to be the leading authority in neuroscience nursing, inspire passion in nurses, and create the future for the specialty.

AANN is seeking a Co-Editor for the Clinical Practice Guidelines Editorial Board. The candidate selected for this position will serve a one-year term as Co-Editor (Jan-Dec 2020) and assume the CPG Editor role in January 2021. The CPG Editor is appointed for a three-year term, reviewed annually by the AANN Board of Directors.

Candidates interested in the CPG Editor position must possess the following qualifications:
  • Doctorate in Nursing
  • Prior service on the AANN Editorial Board (preferred)
  • Volunteer history with AANN (preferred)
  • Experience in scientific writing, editing, and guideline development
  • Demonstrates ability to lead an interdisciplinary team across geographic distances
  • Adept at using various communication and documentation technologies
  • Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills
  • Expertise in current standards of guideline development and publication process

Responsibilities include:
  • Lead and collaborate with CPG editorial board
  • Provide orientation and guidance to new editorial board members
  • Education Provider Committee member – participate and attend meetings
  • Attend and participate in quarterly AANN Leadership call
  • Develop and respond to all ECRI Institute Guideline Trust correspondence
  • Lead completion of the ECRI Institute Guideline Trust submission package
  • Lead completion of CE application process and track renewal as needed and following all CPG revisions
  • Oversee annual reviews of existing CPGs
  • Lead development of annual reports and recommendations to the AANN Board of Directors
  • Develop correspondence and lead responses to inquiries from membership and outside agencies
