AANN: Call for Task Force Members for Neurological Assessment of the Pediatric Patient
The American Association of Neuroscience Nurses (AANN) is committed to the advancement of neuroscience nursing as a specialty through the development and support of nurses to promote excellence in patient care. To date, consistent standards and competencies for neurological assessment of pediatric patients are not available. This project will review the current literature and develop evidence-based practice recommendations for standards and competencies specific for nurses to utilize for the neurological assessment of the pediatric patient.
AANN is seeking Task Force members to participate in this project over a one-year period.
- Candidates interested should possess the following qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (minimum)
- Current experience working with pediatric neuroscience patients (recommended)
- Volunteer history with AANN(preferred)
- Experience in systematic literature review and committed to the development of best practices (preferred)
- Experience in scientific writing and development of standards (preferred)
- Experience in competency development (preferred)
- Can commit to the time required to successfully complete the project (The time commitment for this project is approximately one year).
- Demonstrates ability with time management and able to attend all scheduled meetings
- Adept at using various communication and documentation technologies
- Excellent communication skillsand team participation
- Expertise in current standards of neurological assessment
Responsibilities Include:
- Collaborates with project Chair to develop the project charter
- Establish the project timeline
- Meet all deadlines with work completion
- Attend and participate in all set meetings
- Complete all stated deliverables
