AANN is seeking a Co-editor for the AANN Core Curriculum for Neuroscience Nursing, 8th Edition.

Responsibilities

  1. Perform a comprehensive review of the seventh edition of the Core and outline specific directives for each chapter to guide the revision. Determine if any additional Authors or Contributors will be required for revision.
  2. Manage revisions of the content of the eighth edition of the Work across multiple author groups.
  3. Adhere to publication schedules, including but not limited to first drafts from author groups, peer review, and final drafts of all chapters.
  4. Review all parts of the Work’s manuscript prior to submission to ensure that the content is in line with the Publisher’s vision and intent for the text, current scientific evidence, and best practices.
  5. Ensure the accurate and timely delivery of a final, publishable manuscript to the Publisher within predetermined and mutually agreeable time frames.

Qualifications

Preferred editor candidates will be AANN members with previous writing experience and will possess these qualifications:

  • Minimum education: Master’s degree in nursing
  • At least 3 years of experience in neuroscience nursing
  • Established track record of publications as first and/or senior author in peer reviewed publications.
  • Experience leading work or volunteer groups to meet specified deliverables.
  • Experience in systematic literature review and are committed to the development of best practices
  • Can commit to the time required to successfully complete the project (The time commitment for this project is approximately one year for co-editors)
  • A passion to advance the science and practice of neuroscience nursing

Term of the Commitment

The group will begin its work in 2026. The estimated length of the commitment is 12 months using this projected timeline:

  • A current condensed curriculum vitae that includes, (1) your current position and title, with your contact information, (2) service and volunteer positions (3) the professional organizations in which you hold membership and (4) a bibliography of articles, book chapters, and books you have published in the past 10 years
