AANN is seeking volunteers for the Education Approver Committee (EAC). The EAC administers the continuing education approval mechanism for AANN. It is responsible for developing and maintaining a system of policies, procedures, and processes that support quality continuing education for professional nurses. Members of the committee conduct a peer review of continuing education applications submitted to the approval unit using the ANCC criteria.
Qualifications
- Current AANN membership
- Baccalaureate or Master’s degree in Nursing or Nursing Education preferred
- Neuro-related clinical experience (within last five years)
- Education program development experience
- Abstract review experience preferred
- Good communication skills
- Enthusiasm and passion for professional neuroscience nursing
Time commitment
2-year term appointed by the AANN President-elect. 4-6 conference calls throughout the year, continuing education application proposal review, email communication, and small group work.

- A short statement (1-2 paragraphs) of interest that specifies your areas of interest and special expertise as well as the reasons you would like to be considered for the volunteer opportunity.
- A current condensed curriculum vitae that includes only (1) your credentials, current employer and title, and your contact information, (2) the professional organizations in which you hold membership, (3) the number of years you have worked in neuroscience nursing, (4) a bibliography of articles, book chapters, and books you have published in the past 10 years, and (5) the titles and dates of no more than 5 lectures or presentations you have given (if you have given more than 5 presentations, select the top 5 in the field of neuroscience).
